Litigants in person

This group has divided its work into three strands, namely:

a) drafting guidance for the judiciary and judicial college on how best to handle Litigants in persons (LiPs) in family cases

b) working with Royal Courts of Justice and Personal Support Unit to draft text material for a ‘going to a family court’ type guide, to be completed by a specialist group such as AdviceNow, for use by LiPs

c) Providing advice to Family Justice Board / Ministry of Justice on proposals to mitigate the impact of an increase in LiPs in private law cases after April 2013.
