On Wednesday 30th March 2016 District Judge Davies, sitting at County Court at Mansfield, was satisfied that the Defendant Rachel Christian had been guilty of contempt of court by breaching two undertakings given by her to the court on 12 January 2016.

The Defendant was represented by a Solicitor.

The undertakings provided that the Defendant was required to permit the Claimant, Mansfield District Council access to her property 13 Kirkland Drive, Mansfield on 8 February 2016 for the purposes of a property inspection, and again on 15 February 2016 for the purposes of an annual gas inspection and service.

The Defendant admitted her breaches of both undertakings and the court considered the mitigation put forward on her behalf by her solicitor.

The Defendant was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 14 days in respect of each breach (to run concurrently), suspended until 12 April 2016 upon terms that she would on 5 April 2016 allow the Claimant’s officers, servants or agents access to 13 Kirkland Drive Mansfield for the purposes of a property inspection and a gas inspection/service to take place.
