In relation to the above numbered case on 12 February 2016, District Judge Cope sitting at the Bristol Civil and Family Justice Centre was satisfied that Kosmas Kauzaris had been guilty of contempt of court by disobeying an order dated 23 July 2015. The order provided that the defendant was forbidden from using or threatening violence against the applicant and must not encourage any other person to do so. The defendant was also forbidden from intimidating, harassing or pestering the applicant by communicating with her. The defendant was found to have made threats to the applicant by a third person and to have communicated with the applicant through letters on two separate occasions.

The defendant was subject to a 28 day suspended sentence imposed on 23 July 2015 which was activated. A 28 day sentence was imposed for threatening violence to run consecutively. Two 28 day sentences were imposed for communicating with the applicant, these to run concurrently with each other and consecutively to the other 28 day sentence and the activated suspended 28 day sentence.
