|Contempt of Court

Pursuant to paragraph 13 of Practice Direction: Committal for Contempt of Court – Open Court

In relation to claim no. HC-2015-003754, on 5 October 2015 at the Royal Courts of Justice in London I, Mr Justice Newey, sentenced Mr Serge Ponomarjovs (also known as Mr Serge Pon) to an immediate custodial sentence of 12 months for contempt of Court. The basis of the sentence was that Mr Ponomarjovs had failed to comply with an order made against him by Mrs Justice Rose on 26 August 2015. Among other things, that order required Mr Ponomarjovs not to publish, disclose, use or make copies of files listed in a schedule or information contained in them; to remove certain postings from the internet forthwith and in any event within 24 hours of service of the order; to provide the claimants’ solicitors with a list of people to whom specified posts and information had been disclosed or supplied; to deliver up some electronic devices forthwith and in any event within 48 hours of service of the order; and not directly or indirectly to inform anyone of the proceedings or the content of the order until after 4.30 pm on the return date, 3 September 2015. Mr Ponomarjovs breached the order in a variety of respects and has still not complied with paragraphs 8.4 and 9 of the order.
