|Contempt of Court

Royal Courts of Justice

HC-2017-000560

7 July 2017

In relation to claim no. HC-2017-000560, on 7 July 2017 at the Royal Courts of Justice in London Mrs Justice Rose sentenced Mr Jagdeep Dadi to an immediate custodial sentence of six weeks for contempt of Court. The basis of the sentence was that Mr Dadi committed four breaches of an order made against him by Mr Justice Marcus Smith on 27 February 2017. That order prohibited Mr Dadi from destroying or deleting evidence which may contain Confidential Information as defined by the order and from notifying any person other than his legal advisers of the existence of the order.  Mr Dadi breached that order by deleting large numbers of emails from his email account on two occasions following service upon him of the order and by notifying the Fifth Defendant and other persons about the existence of the order. Sentences of six weeks’ imprisonment were imposed in respect of each of the four breaches, the sentences to run concurrently.
