|Contempt of Court

Pursuant to paragraph 13 of Practice Direction: Committal for Contempt of Court – Open Court

In relation to claim no. 3BS30548, on 19 July 2016 at Bristol Magistrates’ Court I, Mr Justice Newey, sentenced Mr Jeremy Alfred Blacker to an immediate custodial sentence of 4 months for contempt of Court. The basis of the sentence was that Mr Blacker had failed to comply with an order made against him by His Honour Judge McCahill QC, sitting as a Judge of the High Court, on 31 July 2015. That order required Mr Blacker to deliver up vacant possession of a property in Midsomer Norton by 12 noon on 14 August 2015. Mr Blacker breached the order by failing to deliver up possession of the property by the specified date and then re-entered the property after being removed from it by Enforcement Officers on two occasions.
