Committal for Contempt of Court in Open Court at the County Court sitting at Manchester: Bannister

|Contempt of Court

On Thursday 13 April 2017, when sitting as a Judge of the County Court at Manchester Civil Justice Centre, I sentenced Mr Nicholas John Bannister, the respondent to a committal application brought in Case No C31MA134 by the claimant and applicant, Mrs Kay Donohoe, to a custodial sentence of 6 months’ imprisonment, suspended for 2 years, for contempt of court in breaching an undertaking given by the respondent to the court on 12 October 2016 to refrain from harassing the applicant or communicating with her other than by letters addressed to her solicitors. The basis of that sentence was that Mr Bannister had breached various undertakings.
