Newcastle City Council v Carl Murtha Junior

On Wednesday, 22nd June 2016 District Judge Jackson, sitting at County Court at Newcastle upon Tyne, was satisfied that the Respondent, Carl Murtha Junior had been guilty of contempt of court by breaching injunctive orders made by the court on 28th January 2013 as extended by orders of 23rd January 2015.

The Respondent was represented by Counsel.

The order provided that the Respondent should not attend at or attempt to enter a specified address which order is to remain inforce until 4pm on 28th January 2018. The court found a single breach of the order proved.

The Respondent was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 16 weeks suspended on the terms that there be no further breaches of the order until 28th January 2018.
