His Honour Judge Roger Godfrey Kaye TD QC retires as a Specialist Circuit Judge with effect from 22 September 2016.

His Honour Judge Kaye QC (70) was called to the Bar (L) in 1970, took Silk in 1989 and elected as a Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn in 1997. He was Junior Treasury Counsel in Insolvency Matters from 1978 to 1989, appointed a Deputy High Court Registrar in Bankruptcy in 1985 and Deputy High Court Judge (Chancery Division and Queen’s Bench Division) in 1990 (and Family Division) in 2004. He was appointed a Recorder in 1994, Deputy Chancellor for the diocese of Southwark in 1995, Chancellor for the diocese of Hereford in 2000 and Chancellor for the diocese of St Albans in 2002. He was appointed a Circuit Judge and Specialist Chancery/Mercantile Judge in 2005. He was the Judicial College Course Tutor (specialist civil) from 2008 to 2016 and the Judicial College Director of Specialist Civil Training from 2013 to 2015.
