Senior Master of the Queen’s Bench Division Appointment: Fontaine

The Queen has appointed Barbara Janet Fontaine to be the Senior Master of the Queen’s Bench Division and Queen’s Remembrancer on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Royal Courts of Justice with effect from 20 October 2014.

Notes to editors

Barbara Janet Fontaine, aged 60, will be known as Senior Master Fontaine. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 1978. She was appointed as a Deputy Queen’s Bench Master in 1997 and as a Queen’s Bench Master in 2003.
