Senior Circuit Judge Retirement: Wide QC

His Honour Judge Charles Thomas Wide QC retires as a Senior Circuit Judge with effect from 25 May 2016.

His Honour Judge Wide QC (65) was called to the Bar (I) in 1974, took Silk in 1995 and elected as a Bencher in 2010. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1991, a Recorder in 1995, a Circuit Judge in 2001 and a Senior Circuit Judge in 2011 based at the Central Criminal Court in London. He was the Resident Judge at Northampton Crown Court from 2003 to 2011, a Member of the Criminal Procedure Rule Committee from 2004 to 2012, an Additional Judge of the Court of Appeal, Criminal Division, from 2006, a Magistrates Liaison Judge from 2006 to 2014, Courts Board Liaison Judge in 2007 and a Member of the Parole Board from 2010 to 2011.
