His Honour Judge David Charles Mitchell retires as a Senior Circuit Judge with effect from 24 September 2016.

His Honour Judge Mitchell (66) was called to the Bar (I) in 1972. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1989, a Recorder in 1993, a Circuit Judge in 2001 and a Chairman of the Mental Health Review Tribunal (Restricted Patients Panel) in 2003. He was appointed the Designated Civil Judge for Kent in 2003 and the Designated Civil Judge for London in 2007. He was appointed a Senior Circuit Judge in 2010, Senior Resident Judge (Central London Civil Justice Centre) in 2011 and Course Director of the Judicial Studies Board Civil Refresher Course in 2008.
