Senior Circuit Judge Retirement: Kramer QC

His Honour Judge Stephen Ernest Kramer QC retires as a Senior Circuit Judge with effect from 8 August 2017.

His Honour Judge Kramer QC (69) was called to the Bar (G) in 1970, took Silk in 1995 and elected a Bencher in 2002. He was the Standing Counsel to HM Customs and Excise (Crime) from 1989 to 1995, appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1987 and a Recorder in 1991. He was Chairman of the Liaison Committee for the Bar Council/Institute of Barristers Clerks from 1996 to 1999 and Acting Vice Chairman of the Criminal Bar Association from 1998 to 1999 (Vice Chairman from 1999 to 2000 and Chairman from 2000 to 2001). He was appointed Founding Trustee of the Kalisher Trust in 1996, Trustee from 1996 to 2016 (now Patron) and Chairman of the Kalisher Trust from 2007 to 2010. He was appointed a Circuit Judge in 2003 and a Senior Circuit Judge (Central Criminal Court) in 2005.
