His Honour Judge Richard Michael Hone QC retires as a Senior Circuit Judge with effect from 16 February 2017.

His Honour Judge Hone QC (70) was called to the Bar (M) in 1970, elected a Bencher in 1994 and took Silk in 1997. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1987, a Recorder in 1991, a Member of the Bar Professional Conduct Committee from 1993 to 1997, Chairman of the Joint Regulations Committee, Inns of Court and Bar, from 1995 to 2000, and a Legal Member of the Mental Health Review Tribunals in 2000. He was appointed a Circuit Judge in 2004 and a Senior Circuit Judge (Central Criminal Court) in 2005.
