Senior Circuit Judge Retirement: Harris QC

His Honour Judge (Geoffrey) Charles (Wesson) Harris QC retires as a Senior Circuit Judge with effect from 28 January 2017.

His Honour Judge Harris QC (72) was called to the Bar (I) in 1967 and took Silk in 1989. He was appointed a Recorder in 1987, a Circuit Judge in 1993, a Member of the Parole Board from 1995 to 2000 and a Member of the Crown Court Rule Committee from 1997 to 2005. He was appointed the Designated Civil Judge for Oxford and Northampton from 1998 to 2001, Oxford and Thames Valley from 2001 to 2013 and Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire from 2014. He was appointed a Member of the Council of Circuit Judges from 2002 to 2011 (Vice President from 2009 and President from 2010) and a Senior Circuit Judge in 2014.
