The Queen has appointed Gary Paul Thornett to be a Master of the Queen’s Bench Division on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Elizabeth Truss MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Royal Courts of Justice with effect from 31 October 2016.

Notes to editors

Gary Paul Thornett, aged 52, will be known as Master Thornett. He was called to the Bar (M) 1991. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2008.
