High Court: Retirement of The Honourable Sir Henry Brian Globe

The Honourable Sir Henry Brian Globe retires from the High Court (Queen’s Bench) with effect from 4 November 2017.

Sir Henry Globe (68) was called to the Bar (M) in 1972, took Silk in 1994 and was elected a Bencher in 2005. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1987, a Recorder in 1991, a Member of the Bar Council from 2001 to 2003 and a Member of the Criminal Committee of the Judicial Studies Board from 2001 to 2005. He was appointed a Circuit Judge and then Senior Circuit Judge in 2003 and Honorary Recorder, Liverpool, from 2003 to 2011. He was appointed a Member of the Criminal Justice Council from 2004 to 2010, a Member of the Sentencing Council from 2010 to 2015 and a Judge of the High Court (Queen’s Bench) in 2011. He was Presiding Judge of the North Eastern Circuit from 2013 to 2016.
