District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Appointment: Hirst

The Queen has appointed Joanne Elizabeth Hirst to be a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Gauke MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court with effect from 21 May 2018.

Notes to editors

Joanne Elizabeth Hirst, aged 52, will be known as District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Hirst. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 1997. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Court) in 2009.
