The Queen has appointed Stephen Douglas Harmes to be a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP.
The Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, has deployed him to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Teesside Magistrates’ and Family Court with effect from 7 October 2014.

Stephen Douglas Harmes, aged 55, will be known as District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Harmes. He was called to the Bar (G) in 1993. He was appointed as a Fee Paid Immigration Judge in 2006.
