The Queen has appointed Robert Owen Thomson to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP.

The Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, has deployed him to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Leeds Combined Court Centre, with effect from 21 October 2014.

Notes to editors

Robert Owen Thomson, aged 52, will be known as District Judge Thomson. He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1987. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2008.
