Court of Appeal: Retirement of Lord Justice Jackson

Lord Justice Jackson retires as Lord Justice of Appeal with effect from 8 March 2018.

Sir Rupert Matthew Jackson (70) was called to the Bar (M) in 1972, took Silk in 1987 and was elected a Bencher in 1995. He was appointed a Recorder in 1990, a Deputy High Court Judge in 1993 and a Judge of the High Court (Queen’s Bench Division) in 1999. He was the Judge in Charge of the Technology and Construction Court from 2004 to 2007 and appointed Lord Justice of Appeal in 2008, when he was sworn as a Privy Councillor.
