Court of Appeal: Retirement of Lord Justice Beatson FBA

Lord Justice Beatson FBA retired as Lord Justice of Appeal with effect from 5 February 2018.

Sir Jack Beatson FBA (69) was called to the Bar (I) in 1972, elected a Bencher in 1993, took Silk in 1998 and was elected a Fellow of the British Academy for the Humanities and Social Sciences in 2001. He was appointed a Recorder in 1994, a Deputy High Court Judge in 2000 and a Judge of the High Court (Queen’s Bench Division) in 2003. He served as the Queen’s Bench Liaison Judge for Midlands and Wales Circuits from 2009 to 2012 and was appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal in 2013.
