Circuit Judge Appointment: Smith

The Queen has appointed District Judge Graeme David Smith to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Northern Circuit, based at Bolton Crown Court with effect from 1 May 2015.

District Judge Graeme David Smith, aged 51, will be known as His Honour Judge Graeme Smith. He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1988. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 1999, as a District Judge in 2003 and as a Recorder in 2008.
