The Queen has appointed Richard James Lloyd Roberts to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Gauke MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern circuit, based at Central London and Mayors and City of London County Court with effect from 5 March 2018.

Richard James Lloyd Roberts, aged 56, will be known as His Honour Judge Richard Roberts. He was called to the Bar (M) in 1983. He was appointed as a fee-paid Immigration Judge of the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal in 2006 and became a member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals Panel in 2007. He was appointed as a Master of the Queen’s Bench Division in 2009.
