Circuit Judge Appointment: Mitchell

The Queen has appointed Alison Janet Mitchell to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Michael Gove MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Northern Circuit, based at Preston Crown Court and Family Court with effect from 27 May 2016.

Alison Janet Mitchell (used to be known as Hunt), aged 52 will be known as Her Honour Judge Mitchell. She was called to the Bar (G) in 1986. She was appointed as a Recorder in 2008.
