The Queen has appointed Paul Mitchell to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Gauke MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Western Circuit, based at Plymouth Combined Court with effect from 3 April 2018.

Notes to editors

Paul Mitchell, aged 54, will be known as His Honour Judge Paul Mitchell. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1991. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 1999, as a District Judge in 2003 and as a Recorder in 2010.
