Circuit Judge Appointment: Laird

The Queen has appointed Francis Joseph Laird QC to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Midland Circuit, based at Birmingham Crown Court with effect from 24 March 2015.

Francis Joseph Laird QC, aged 51, will be known as His Honour Judge Laird QC. He was called to the Bar (G) in 1986 and took Silk in 2011. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2009.
