The Queen has appointed Martin Richard John Hurst to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lidington MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Midland Circuit, based at Leicester Crown Court, with effect from 19 March 2018.

Notes to editors

Martin Richard John Hurst, aged 54, will be known as His Honour Judge Hurst. He was called to the Bar (M) in 1985. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2009.
