The Queen has appointed District Judge Sonia Ruth Harris-Short to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lidington MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Midland Circuit, based at Wolverhampton Combined Court and Walsall County Court, with effect from 26 February 2018.

Notes to editors

Sonia Ruth Harris, aged 43, will be known as Her Honour Judge Sonia Harris. She was called to the Bar (L) in 1998. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2010, as a District Judge in 2014 and as a Recorder in 2016.
