Circuit Judge Appointment: Eyre

The Queen has appointed Stephen John Arthur Eyre QC to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Midland Circuit, based at Birmingham Crown Court with effect from 16 March 2015.

Stephen John Arthur Eyre QC, aged 57, will be known as His Honour Judge Eyre QC. He was called to the Bar (I) in 1981 and took Silk in 2015. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2005, a Fee-paid Legal Member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal in 2007, now known as Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber (Mental Health).
