Circuit Bench Retirement: Phillips CBE

His Honour Judge John Andrew Phillips CBE retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 1 July 2016.

His Honour Judge Phillips CBE (66) was called to the Bar (G) in 1976 and elected as a Bencher in 2008. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1989, a Recorder in 1993, a Circuit Judge in 1998 and the Resident Judge at Carlisle from 2000 to 2006. He was Director of Studies for the Judicial Studies Board from 2007 to 2011 and appointed Director of Training for Courts at the Judicial College in 2012.
