Circuit Bench Retirement – Matthews QC

Her Honour Judge Suzan Patricia Matthews QC retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 1 May 2014.

Her Honour Judge Matthews QC (66) was called to the Bar (M) in 1974 and took Silk in 1993. She was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1991 and a Recorder in 1995. She was appointed a Member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals Panel from 1996 to 2003, and appointed Deputy Chairman from 2002 to 2003. She was appointed a Member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board from 1999 to 2000. She was appointed a Deputy High Court Judge and a Legal Member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal (Restricted Patients Panel) in 1999 and a Circuit Judge in 2003.
