Circuit Bench Retirement: Lancaster

His Honour Judge Anthony Trevor Lancaster retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 14 April 2018.

Notes to editors 

His Honour Judge Lancaster (69) was admitted as a Solicitor in 1973. He was appointed a Deputy District Judge in 1985, a part-time Chairman of the Social Security Appeals Tribunal in 1985 and a District Judge in 1988. He was appointed a Recorder in 1999, President of the Association of District Judges in 2000, a Circuit Judge in 2001, a Deputy High Court Judge (Family) in 2005 and the Designated Diversity and Community Relations Judge for Cumbria since 2011.
