Circuit Bench Retirement

His Honour Judge Peter Henry Francis Jones retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 4 April 2017.

Notes to editors

His Honour Judge Jones (65) was admitted as a Solicitor in 1977. He was appointed a Member of the Lord Chancellor’s Legal Aid Advisory Committee from 1983 to 1992, a Member of the Legal Aid Board from 1992 to 1995, an Assistant Recorder in 1993, a Stipendiary Magistrate in 1995, a Recorder in 1997 and a Member of the Sentencing Advisory Panel from 1999 to 2005. He was appointed a Circuit Judge in 2001 and was a Course Director for Family Law Training at the Judicial College (formerly the Judicial Studies Board) from 2004 to 2011.

Cafodd ei benodi’n Aelod o Bwyllgor Ymgynghorol Cymorth Cyfreithiol Yr Arglwydd Ganghellor yn 1983 tan 1992, yn Aelod o’r Bwrdd Cymorth Cyfreithiol yn 1992 tan 1995, yn Gofiadur Cynorthwyol yn 1993, yn Ynad Cyflogedig yn 1995, yn Gofiadur yn 1997 ac yn Aelod o’r Panel Ymgynghorol Dedfrydu yn 1999 tan 2005. Cafodd ei benodi’n Farnwr Cylchdaith yn  2001 ac roedd yn Gyfarwyddwr Cyrsiau Hyfforddiant Cyfraith Teulu yn y Coleg Barnwrol (sef Y Bwrdd Astudiaethau Barnwrol gynt) rhwng 2004 a 2011.
