Circuit Bench Retirement: Eccles QC

His Honour Judge (Hugh William) Patrick Eccles QC retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 26 April 2016.

His Honour Judge Eccles QC (70) was called to the Bar (M) in 1968, took Silk in 1990 and was elected a Bencher in 1998. He was appointed a Member of the County Court Rule Committee from 1986 to 1991, a Recorder in 1987, Assistant Parliamentary Boundary Commissioner in 1992. He was appointed a Deputy High Court Judge, Queen’s Bench Division, from 1997 to 2015 and to the Chancery and Family Division from 2002 to 2015. He was appointed a Legal Member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal (Restricted Patients Panel) in 1999 (now known as a Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Health, Education and Social Care Chamber)) and a Circuit Judge in 2000.
