Appointment of Alison Hewitt as senior coroner for the City of London coroner area

New Senior Coroner for the City of London

The City of London, as relevant authority have today announced the appointment of Alison Hewitt as senior coroner for the City of London coroner area following an open competition and after receiving the consent of the Chief Coroner and Lord Chancellor. This vacancy is a result of the forthcoming retirement of Professor Paul Matthews who has served as senior coroner since 2002 as well as being (amongst many other things) the current editor of Jervis on Coroners.

Ms Hewitt will take up her post on 12 October 2016.
