Appointment of a High Court Judge: Fraser QC

The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of Peter Donald Fraser Esq QC to be a Justice of the High Court with effect from 1 October 2015 on the retirement of Mrs Justice Swift.

The Lord Chief Justice will assign Mr Fraser to the Queen’s Bench Division.

Notes for editors

Mr Fraser, 52, was called to the Bar (M) in 1989 and took Silk in 2009. He was appointed a Recorder in 2002 and is approved to sit as a deputy High Court Judge.

Mrs Justice Swift was called to the Bar (I) in 1977 and took Silk in 1993. She was appointed a Recorder in 1995 and a judge of the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court in 2005.
