The Lord Chief Justice now decides where judges sit, and the type of cases they hear.
Judicial Executive Board
Following the changes that came into place under the Constitutional Reform Act 2005 the Lord Chief Justice formed a Judicial Executive Board.
The Board is comprised of the Lord Chief Justice, Master of the Rolls, President of the Queen’s Bench, President of the Family Division, Chancellor of the High Court, and two Lords Justices.
